Comments on God, the great destroyer of marriages

Who cares?
This is all just BS anyway. I do not believe in some perfect spiritual world. If it does not have to do with the real world, then it has nothing to do with me. I worry about the here and now and what I am doing with my life. Since there is no after life, I am not one bit concerned with the after life.,

But the statement does not work if it can only be in the spiritual world anyway. For any such statement to have any meaning in life it needs to have relevance to life. Since it has none, then it is meaningless.

Interesting thing is I live my life by the ideas of love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. I need no crap out of some old book to make want to do this.

Dan I am much more incorruptible than many who I know of who have been born again. You see it is very hard fro em to go against my beliefs, because I have decided on what I believe. While very often those who are born again are being told what to believe and end up going against those beliefs. At least I am 100% sure of who I ma and what I believe in. So many born agains are not.

This verse of scripture talking about good and bad fruit
is referring to spiritual fruit ( good fruit) and works of the flesh ( bad fruit):

9 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

its not talking about natural trees which come from corruptable seed but the fruit of the spirit which arises from incorruptable seed:

having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides

there are no spiritual birth defects as in the natural world.

Thank God God does not punish us ( and the false prophets) according to what we deserve, instead He is merciful ( in this age of grace) and provides the Holy Spirit to guide us from the false prophets and into all truth:

8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

12 "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth

but make no mistake, judgement is coming.

Wow, no one seems upset over this one
First off Cantey, a good tree CAN bear bad fruit. It does happen in nature very often, so that text really has flaws to begin with. And there are times when bad trees do bear good fruit.

But just he idea that such churches can gain so much power would seem to get God mad. So why does he not do anything about it? My answer is that he is not real so he has no power. If there is a God he should be active in fighting against any 'false prophets', but he is not. So either he does not care, or his is not real. Either way, I can not believe in him.

Very honest post!
My experience is just the opposite. My life was total chaos until I became a Christian and started my personal relationship with God. In fact, the way you describe your familial relationships sounds a lot like the way I describe mine. Go figure! I have to agree with part of what cantey said, the problem most of the time is not God, but Christians with a badly distorted understanding of God. This is why I insist on maintaining a questioning attitude especially toward people who I consider to be my spiritual leaders.

Good Post
It sounds like you need to keep fraudulent 'churches' away from your family. not God. A church is not always a representation of the charectar of God. Sometimes they are. Your father unfortunantly got mixed up with what the bible warns about:

Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
