Welcome!

I've been here for about three weeks and I've noticed the same things-jealousy, cliques, etc.  I have one bit of advice to you, write about the things that matter to you.    Most of the people here are so competitive they forget to write blogs that people like me would like to read.  There are people here that are here to write you just have to search for them.

Post something everyday even if it is just a thought.  I hate it when my favorite bloggers go days between blogging.  I like knowing what goes on in their lives.

So far I can tell you you're doing a good job.  I can look past misspelling/punctuation as long as I tell you're writing from the heart.

Maxine, welcome to Blogit. Yes, it is more of a community than many blogging sites. First of all, bloggers have short attention spans, so keep your blogs to 4 or 5 paragraphs. You can split things up into several different blogs if you need. Also, since you aren't a good speller, a good way around that is to write your blogs within your computer's word processor. Blogit has no spell checker, but your word processor does. It will highlight misspelled words or underline them in red. Right click on the word, and you'll get a list of possible correctly spelled words. Then just choose whichever you meant to use and it is substituted for the other.

Most of us manage anywhere from 2 to 10 blogs, which we simply add posts to each day or with some frequency. Anytime you have questions, normally someone around here will be happy to help out, but we do have our cliques, just like high school. Some of us are funny and many of us are not normal by average standards. A few of us are deeply disturbed.

I've found that writers and poets often suffer from depression and/or a host of other personality disorders. You'll have to be the judge of whether or not you fit in.

OK.

with help on your paragraph breaks that you asked about:

I usually type like I think. Then, when I have a new thought, I put it in a new line.

Like this.

Or like this.

Hey, Nascar is on.

For dramatic pauses in speech,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I use commas'

It's all about personal taste.

As far as people who is bitching at others, I only bitch to be funny.

Like, I could call you a 'Wanker' (even thought you're a chick) and it would be in fun only.

You'll get the hang of it. Don't worry. It took me about a month to get used to who was who! and I'm working on my 3rd month here.

Just start commenting, and getting your name out there. People will read you and get used to your style.

Typos are a part of liffe. Get ofer it. I diod.

I feel I don't know much either, which is why I freaked out on the weekend in a blog about Why aren't people just writing instead of publishing distribution lists and why are they speaking some sort of secret language that excludes others and telling others who to read and who not to read.

I don't feel jealous of anyone, because the best thing Blogit's done for me is make me write more every day.  I guess that is the bottom line.  It's tough, getting people to read my fiction on here, but I'm proud of all I've done so far and it's all a learning process.

And man, don't underestimate yourself.  You seem on the ball.
