Comments on Birth Control is not a sin

SIN?
Sin- A transgression against a divine or moral law.
Of course I do not believe in a divine God, so to me sin is when you do something morally wrong. Basically you know what you are doing is wrong when you do it but you do it anyway. That to me is what sin should be all about. So by that logic, birth control is not a sin.

You never proved your point however. Everything you have said did nothing to defend the idea that 'contraception has had little positive effect on our society'. I have known people who I am very, very glad they use birth control.

And I was talking about those here in the west who pop babies out and then go after all the resources they can get their hands on. The east and other such countries which have problem meeting the needs of their people need more birth control, because it was due to lack of such that they got where they are now. At the same time they need to get it in their heads that there is nothing wrong with having female child.

It all comes down to people excepting responsibility for their actions. And using birth control is such a thing.

My comment was merely to point out that contraception has had little positive effect on our society, regardless of weather it is imposed or otherwise.  This to give you a little more understanding on what you were blogging about.

I had purposely made no mention of the title of your blog 'Birth control is not a sin' because I felt no need to be picky.  That was then!  I don't know if you realize or not but the word SIN means the transgression of Gods known will; 'unless you know more than God' as DEMSareEVIL previously asked, your blurb is a contradiction in it's self, . It may have been more wise to call it, Let everyman decide for himself if he wants to use birth control or not. Then you would have had a much different response.

Back to one of your observations of my comment:    Those families that pop babies out are still not the ones using the up the world resources It is the exact opposite the 10% of the world that I was quoting from are the West and as we all know we are the ones using the 90% even though we produce far less offspring.

let me make one more comment. I live in Australia (West) and our government is now so concerned about our receding (western) population that they are incouraging couples to have more children. Although our population has increased over the years it has not been from the rate of birth but rather from the carefully controlled importation of imigrants. Of course this means the less children the we have the more vacancies we create for migrants.  Why is it that we think we are wise to stop producing our own children yet not smart enough to realize that we need people (those that choose to procreate) in order to run a successfull economy. Take a look into the crystal ball and you will see that when 'East meets West', West will out-smart themselves into extinsion.

Now before you get huffy!!!..... This is my own opinion and I am not trying to represent any religious or politicl group. Smiles

Birth control has nothing at all to do with the social problems in China. That is due to forced birth control and the fact that having male offspring is considered better for all. I am talking about being 100% responsible for one's own actions. The government should not be involved in it.

I am a little confused by whatever point it was that you were trying to make. Mankind in and of itself destroys nature and the balances that have worked great for so long in order to spread out as much as possible. We are outside of nature and that is a destructive path. We are not control like most of species on the Earth and if we do not become responsible for out own actions, we will set it up so that we will not survive. You see these families who just keep popping on the kids and say that they should get more and more of the resources and do less and less work to earn them. It is a destructive path no matter how you look at it.

As for the sex issue, you will not be able to go back to those great old days of denial. It is best to teach our kids about safe sex and then figure they will be smart enough to control themselves. For a fine example of this I did a post about how good catholic girls about a decade ago had a hugh spike in the number of abortions. This was because they would not use birth control because that was a planned sin. They were able to justify the abortions by saying they had no choice. Of course the church finally got their brains working and step in and said that the girls had it backwards. They need to look at it as though Birth control was a mistermeaner, while abortion was a felony. The girls were going to have premarital sex no matter what, it is something kids do and have done for a long, long time. We were in a state of denial about it for most of this last century. Now we are open about it and are doing what we can to deal with it and make sure our children do the intelligent thing.

Kooka, what do you say then to the problem birth control caused in china... I am referring to the more than 200million males without any prospect of marriage (who are now foot soldiers, Yay to war!) not to mention the squillions of baby girls either aborted, killed at birth or left to live their unfortunate lives in orphanages. All because of (our) government’s imposure of the zero birth rate.  This control has had much economic impact on the world also. Where once 10% of the world (the West) were using 90% of the worlds resources, The nations that have achieved zero population are now starting to get their share of MP3's and 4WD's.  It was bad enough that the 10% had lost the principal of life, to be fruitful and multiply (bringing up children) not thegreed of man (the accumulation of possessions). Don't bother trying to tell me that the world will overpopulate (by that I men there won't be enough food) because when people are starving it is almost impossible to procreate.  And if you think I am cold and heartless think again because this is exactly what happens in nature, that is unless man interferes!!!!

Nature V's Mans great plan!!! Trace birth control (the pill) back to its introduction into society and read the stats before and after, of unwanted pregnancy, abortion, and divorce you will be amazed. The promotion of condoms and the encouragement of their use have done little to support the message of promiscuity.  If we don't mind our children having sex all around town because they have been told they are safe (safer), then it won't be long before we find men in gray coats handing out lollies in playgrounds acceptable aswell.

DEMSareEVIL
Since God is a man made entity, I would have to say yes, I know more than him. As I have said before I am more inclined to believe in a high being that is not a 'God' and is not truly aware but just is. So even there, I would have to say yes I know more.

Never watched Temptation Island, sounded too stupid of an idea to begin with.

As for the little voice in my head, I don't wish to go on a killing spree and take out most of the population of the world just because they are all too stupid at times. So I think I will continue to ignore that voice thank you very much.

A bit of advice:
Of course you know more than God, right?

Watching too much "Temptation Island" ?

Please be careful, because if you keep squashing that little voice inside your head, it may someday not be there to protect you when you need it most.
