Jeepers sounds like one dog Dad had who was impossible to train. I think he was a pup from out dogs pup, who mated with her dad accidently.

I bet you Kids felt sad about it. We used to have the problem in the old days when nearly everyone had a dog and most had a few hens or ducks. I suppose it was not as bad as killing sheep. At least it was quick for Jeepers. 🌺🌺

Poor Jeepers. 
My granddaughter's cat, Alex, was just hit by a car a few days ago. The loss of a pet can be devastating.

Sad story! But often the case with wolf or coyote hybrids: I've read that it's pure chance and and unlikely chance at that, to get such an animal that has more dog than wild tendencies.
In other news... Sy Montgomery has a new book out since November: What the Chicken Knows. It's a quick read and opens the world of chicken-keeping!
