Shops still close here. Just tradition I suppose. Men used to have the day off

and then planted  the seed potatoes. The seasons do change we have had so much rain

and a bad few days of cold weather is forecast so one has to be careful. I am not planting

sun flowers this year. I don't like the rough stalks on the ones that are grown for florist.

Archie has got the 200 dahlia plants to contend with. I am just growing ten to give to the

neighbors. Please be careful when you mix with large crowds. There are still nasties around

try to get intimate with the unsuspecting. 🌺🌺

During my life, Good Friday has always been a regular day for the businesses. The only thing I can think of being closed is the United States stock market.

Re: love this and there is a real Easter Bunny story here. Maybe this

Bunny has just left a chocolate egg on each desk in St. Bernards school for the children to find when they get back to school!

Speaking of Easter, yesterday while the Good Friday worshippers were packing the street and St. B's parking lot, I was standing on my back porch for a minute, when I noticed a bunny, sitting as silent as a stone, just a few feet from the edge of my deck. A brown bunny, bright eyes watching, but otherwise not moving a muscle. When I turned to go
back inside, it stayed put. From the kitchen window I observed it licking its paws, washing
its face. I turned to the fridge to get something, and when I looked out, Ms. Brown was
gone, poof! Perhaps she was scouting for places to hide Easter treats.

Good morning

In my small borough, everything was closed yesterday for Good Friday except for the places that were selling fish sandwiches and our one big grocery store was open for business as usual. When I stopped there yesterday to pick up my Easter cake, I found the place packed elbow-to-elbow with shoppers. Confused smile

Good Morning

Kabu, the way you describe Good Friday is the way it is here too.  Everyone is getting ready for Easter and they are shopping and preparing for the holiday.  The Banks were open and we still got mail.  I hope you have a wonderful Easter.  Please give Mr. Graysome a hug from Sadie and from me.  Sadie is such a social butterfly that I know she would love to meet Mr. Graysome.

It's likely that true Christians in America celebrate Easter, but the current trend of those claiming to be Christian are not so to any depth and only celebrate for show and entertainment.
