I've got an appointment soon for a checkup on the hearing aids. Some
days they irritate the hell out of me because the sound from the TV is distorted a bit by them. These cost an arm and a leg 6 years ago and I think they're wearing out, but I am resisting spending all that $$. However, my mood is so much better when I can hear conversations and catch what's going on around me. Poor hearing can be depressing because you feel so isolated. And it ticks off anyone who's trying to talk to you.

Oh, I hope Jim has a lovely birthday. And as for hearing, these guys need to get their hearing checked and get hearing aids. Conversation runs like a comedy routine here cause Himself misses at least half of what I say! I love you party idea! Wow! That would be so great! How fun!

How fun that will be for you if everyone shows up. I haven't had a birthday party since I turned 50. My sons and their wives threw a surprise party for me by scheduling the church diningroom for it. I was totally surprised and a bit embarrassed. I couldn't believe all the people that were there. I do believe that was the last time that all four of my sons and their wives and my husband were all together in the same place at the same time.

Good evening
That should prove to be quite the celebration next year. An 80th birthday is a serious milestone. John and I are celebrating our 60th next year in October. I never turn down a good salad. With these high temperatures we had salad for dinner today too. I made my bacon, egg, and cheese salad with fresh broccoli, mushrooms, Roma tomatoes, and mixed salad greens. I love peppery arugula and crunchy Romaine lettuce in my salad.
