When I was young I could sing in perfect Italian and read it quite well but could never converse; they speak too fast for me.

This makes me laugh, but it is always where you begin that determines the ease of learning. I love languages and trying to learn them. I've tried Czech, Spanish, French, Choctaw, and I forget the rest of them. The best I've done other than birth English is Spanish, but even that has been a real struggle.
