Good for you! My older sis does the same thing with me.

It's definitely to hold our tongues when it comes to family members. I often see around Thanksgiving and Christmas advice column letters about people dreading relatives whose political views they don't align with.

A savvy son says to me - Pick and choose your battles. Sometimes it is better for all of us all around to ignore irritating actions. The hassle of enduring that is less arduous than the ensuing outcomes from confrontation. It's just not worth it for anyone. You, my BFF, are a wise person.

I suppose it is a bit of a job to change roles. Your sister has got this fixed in her mind.

She probably even now thinks you are what you have been and she is still

motivated by odd mistakes she thinks you have made. Haven't we all.

Don't tell her I said this, I shall deny it

of course and blame it on Uncle Albert.  Get those long John's  back on Albert.

Ours was a very quarrelsome family but we have settled like fried eggs.

Good Afternoon

Kabu, I love the stories you tell about growing up with your family.

I had two older sisters who were bossy.  I stayed away from them as much as I could growing up.  After I was an adult and we all had children we got along fine.

Good afternoon

Your stories are always fascinating to read in that are straight out of a novel. How funny that most families with several children have that one bossy kid. I was raised as an only child until I was 18. My mom remarried for the fifth time to a younger man and became pregnant quickly. My brother as sweet as he is tends to boss me around. I blame it partially on his many years of military service. I later learned that my deceased dad had fathered three other children...all girls. I have met two of them, and I will meet the last one that we know about in June. Ancestry.com has been a blessing in locating my siblings. The youngest sister is quite bossy, but I figure that it's because she is a Taurus.

Dealing with a bossy sister can take a grandmother right back to her

childhood - in my case it was a time when sibling rivalry could get downright physical. Your decision not to fracture the relationship was wise and caring. We know they love us or they wouldn't bother...
