Re: adnohr
The only thing against marrows here is they do tend to get the mildew as the days shorten. WE also grow courgettes as they grow into marrows if left and I prefer those.

I had never heard of marrow, but now will ask Karen if she knows anything about it. She's the gardener around here - in fact has worked in that kind of thing for years before retiring. I agree with Pat_B's comment about flowers.

I loved this post. I wish Archie luck growing everything he wants to grow. I think growing and selling flowers is a very rewarding business.

Good morning
I have heard that marrows grow like wildfire. I like squash, but only once in a great while. I see that they deep fry the squash flowers on the Food Netwrok. I have never tried them that way, but I bet that they are delicious. I have always wanted to grow melons. I love them, but they are so expensive at the grocer's. Maybe this year I will give them a proper go.

I had to Google "marrows" because I'd never heard of them here
in any garden I've seen - I can see how they'd be a nice addition to the lunch table. It seems to me that making a living growing and selling flowers would be very rewarding, since flowers make people happy and are involved in so many celebrations in life. It might even inspire poetry. Thank you for sharing your ways with us here on Blogit. I look forward to your posts.
