Re: Omg, TAPS! That is horrible. I don't like them either.
Anything could go wrong once those metal doors close and that huge hunk of metal gets to rolling up or down. I am glad that she is alright, but it's sad that she fears them now, although I don't blame her one bit.

One of my sisters worked on the 24th floor of a high rise office building here in Kansas City, before 9/11 disaster, for a lawyer. One day when she got on to go down at end of day, it did not work right and dropped 19 floors before the safety measures kicked in. She and the other four occupants were taken to the hospital but survived. She had to quit her job because she refused to ever get on another elevator and didn't have the stamina to walk up that many stairs every day.
