I actually hired that out. The story was ~38,000 words and I paid a penny a word ($380) to have it translated. It took the man about a week to do. A friend of mine "reads" well in Hindi, and he told me it was a fairly accurate translation. The story has sold very well in India. It averages about 30 to 40 sales per month, but no one ever rates stories anymore. The lone rating that story got was from a woman I know who is well-known in my writing circles on Twitter for her less than complimentary reviews.
I have found an app that translates English to Spanish, German, Japanese, and French (among other languages) that I am testing that I can do myself at no cost. It takes nothing but time. Once I get it all figured out, I will lay it all out here.
On that same line, I have multiple low reviews from people who never bought or read/listened to a story. I had one story out there for a week that hadn't sold a single copy that accumulated FOUR one-stars no words... just the ratings. I called ACX and after a week, they removed the ratings. I have several stories that have the same issue. They got negative no words reviews, but Amazon won't remove them.
When I use Twitter, I never, ever mention politics because a friend of mine posted a comment on a political thread and ended up with over 500 -FIVE HUNDRED - one-star ratings on a book that hadn't sold twenty copies... and Amazon refuses to take them off. That's not right.

An Excellent post and much appreciated by me. I couldn't do that when I wrote "Tom Ugly" though. it is a period piece at a time whenAustralia was just a new colony with Aboriginal people, convicts, the Army Cor. to keep order and a smattering of free settlers and freed convicts. Tom belongiiing to no group, was someone everyone could look down on.
