Good afternoon
That was quite the array of vegetables. I can relate to those intestinal miseries. I do well with seafood, fresh vegetables, and fruit though. Some breads, gravies, and sauces play havoc on my system, so I tread lightly around food.

Re: Goldiec,
I think lime or other acidic additions might heighten the hot in jalapenos, but also send the tastebuds in another direction, so to speak--another strong taste! I knew a very scientific guy once who, at a Mexican birthday party where they had a crock of homemade pickled jalapenos, said, "I've heard that the seeds are the hot part." Then he cut a whole one in half and scraped out all the seeds, and ate half of that half in one bite. When he could talk again, he managed to get out, "I'd hate to taste the seeds!"

Re: TAPS,
I once had one of those casual chats with a stranger at the grocery store, around the topic of Chocolate Makes Everything Better. We didn't come up with chocolate hummus, though. But if you count Mexican mole sauce, it does grace even savory dishes! Someone else once said you can get chocolate anything except liquor... and now I have a bottle, rarely used, of Godiva Chocolate Liqueur. It's very nice over ice cream!

Good Morning
I love salad bars and I'm always willing to try new things. I've never eaten anything like dark chocolate and hummus. It sounds so different. I do love new recipes and I'm always on the lookout for new ones. My Pico de Gallo turned out so good. I'm going to make it again. I thought the jalapeno would make it too hot but it was delicious. I'm wondering if the lime juice took some of the bite out of the jalapeno. I did leave the seeds out though.
