There's a joke in there somewhere about the people who got fired along the way, but none of it is really funny. It is, however, a parade of absurdities that some people took for gospel. Others just tagged along for what they could get. Trump was a dupe himself, of players of the Long Game Coup, meant to demolish democracy, then make way for the authoritarians and oligarchs lurking within the Republican Party.
It remains to be seen if he can survive the Jan 6 Committee Hearings as he survived two impeachments. He had the Republicans then, but will they still carry him through this? It is about them as much as it is about him, working the Big Con for what they still imagine they can get.
