Those were some tough days. The women of yesteryear did a lot to pave the way for the women of today.

The garden dries out really fast in this hot, dry, windy weather! It helps to keep them well watered, I find! Even so, I have lost a few.

Good Evening

Kabu, I hope you stay cool during these hot, sweltering days.  I'm not surprised that your gnomes wanted to stay outside.  They want to be where the action is.  My gnomes and fairies came in tonight and got a cold shower and went to relax in the air conditioning.  The heat takes a toll on everybody.  They are saying that tomorrow it's going to feel like 105 degrees.  I'm just beside myself with this heat wave.  It's no secret that I don't like the heat. I think that everyone views their circumstances in different ways.  We were living in Arkansas when the boys were little and it was as hot as could be.  It was 110 in the shade sometimes.  When I think back on that time I'm not sure how I lived through it.

I don't think life is easy for anyone who has the responsibility of

keeping kids and husband together without sisters or friends around to share the burden and laugh together at the stupid stuff. Being isolated, whether from Covid or because there are no near neighbors can weigh on the mind. We need joyful contact of some kind, some human understanding to keep our creative juices flowing. It's nice to be needed, but there are limits and there have to be payoffs and emotional returns so we can stay on an even keel.  The heat will pass before long, the plants will recover with a good rain, and we will be able to take a deep breath, maybe stand with our arms outstretched to receive a gentle rain and give thanks for our blessings.

Good afternoon

What a total shame that people looked down on you due to a "working and doing the best that you can with what you've got situation." Had they gotten to know you, they would have been in the company of a living treasure who was existing right there in their trailor park. It has been my experience that people are too quick to judge things that they know nothing about. I do hope that your winds settle down although they do give somewhat of a breeze on a hot and miserable day.
