Waking from my short winter nap, as I often do, I can see a white carpet out over the yard.
When we first moved to Seattle, we lived at the top of Queen Anne Hill, and were too poor for public transport. Walking down or up could spoil your legs for a couple of days!
Here in Issaquah, we are near the top of a hill: One way up is pretty tame, but the other is a wiggly windy road with some steep drop-offs! We generally take the long way 'round when wet and ice are factors!

Please excuse the typos. My phoone has issues with the type. It should read like this: "My cousin's daughter has Covid now. She doesn't have a sense of entitlement; is fully vax'd and boosted; and has no underlying health issues. She does, however, work with very young children who cannot be vax'd. Hope you days was cheery and bright." My point was that not everyone is able to be in a situation that allows them freedom from this dread virus.
I have another relative with leukemia who was vax'd but did not build up antibodies, something which has not been adressed much. Also, the airlines let many staff go last year when no one was traveling and have not rehired them all as yet, as I'm sure you know. So working short-staffed and then having Covid staffing shortages has made a bad situation worse. I do hope your flight home is pleasant and safe.

I do understand not eveyone who gets infected was careless or selfish or deluded. Just saying that it could have been contained by now if those were not factors in the wider population.
Your cousin's daughter, hopefully, will not become very ill, have to be hospitalized, or have lasting effects.

I am not sure is the Omicron variant has brought on a whole new tidal
wave of Covid or if we've just got our testing rates up. In any case the reports on the daily news are very discouraging. Just when we think it's just about over... So I hope the snow in Seattle is enough to enjoy for its beauty but not enough to hamper the getting around. I remember a bus driver saying - long time ago - there are only two hills in Seattle; the one you're climbing up and the one you'll go back down. Maybe it didn't seem logical then, either. Have a wonderful time! Safe travels.

Hi Ciel. I had a test kit come by post from the N.H.S. When I read the instructions it
advised me not to return the sample unless one thought one had Covid. I thought that was strange. However, my Brother said there is a pill out now that is thought to be effective. I suppose there is a limited supply and probably it is used to save going into hospital which one wants to avoid.
