Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Goldiec,
I agree, though maybe in the garage with a door open in winter, and always keeping an eye on it.
Thing is, sitting in my living room, I could smell the pork aroma from his backyard. Imagine having that smell filling the house all day from inside! It would go from tantalizing to torture!

Re: sassyass,
The pork was amazing! This week we will be doing chicken and maybe some beef brisket. I wonder if you can do things like whole cauliflower, or winter squash...?

Good afternoon
Smoked meats are so tasty and juicy. I love smoked ribs the best.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Goldiec,
I would be afraid to put it inside. I think the backyard is safe.

Re: Re: Re: Goldiec,
In his back yard.
A friend mentioned that the house he lives in had a 'grow room' with air venting to the outside, and thinks he might be able to use that room to do smoking indoors.

Re: Re: Goldiec,
Ciel, where does Charlie cook with the smoker? Is it in the yard or driveway or somewhere else? I have no idea where you put them.

Re: Goldiec,
It turns out, you can learn all the basics you need to know online, or perhaps your neighbor can introduce you to the joys of smoking! Charlie did some research on YouTube.
He did each pork shoulder with a spicy rub, that was it. He has a friend who is experienced, and will give him some recipes, but to start out, he is keeping it simple. The main constraint for him was feeling the need, at least the first time, to keep an eye on it for the 8 hours. He has decided it's not that necessary, not like a bbq with an open fire. So his entire day doesn't have to be about the smoker!

Good Morning
Ciel, I always wanted to try a smoker but we don't have one. I wouldn't know what to do if we did have one. My neighbor got one this year and I guess he really likes it. I can imagine it makes everything taste really good. Do you need special seasonings to cook your meat?

My son makes smokers, and he does a turkey with it. To die for!
