Summer is putting forth a last gasp. Pretty soon, though, there will be wintry weather.

This is that time of year when they head south for the winter. Just wait until spring!

Re: Kabu

Well Helen it has rained all this week here. I must say it is a nicer feeling than all the hot weather. Although the wind was ruffling the curtains last night and I had to close the windows. My cat just seems to turn up in the morning eat a packet of food and drink some Lactose-free milk and then slips away. One thing it goes up the back way through a hole in the hedge, so not on the road. Nothing is ever perfect.

You're in the Midwest now - the heat and humidity are one of the most

persistent features of our summers, and for the past few years this stretches on into the fall. One weird thing I learned after I moved here from the Pacific Northwest is that there's a whole separate seasonal wardrobe for summer and winter. Didn't have that growing up - we added sweaters on extra cold days, switched to light cotton shirts when it got warm... It wasn't until I got to southern Illinois I learned we cannot wear white (strictly summer) after Labor Day if we've got even a lick of fashion sense.  Holy crap!

Good evening

Laying on the bed with the fan blowing is the best. I am with Graysome where this habit is concerned. I haven't heard about people not seeing birds. My yard is full of them from morning until late afternoon. Of course, I keep my feeders full of various seeds, especially the black ones that the Cardinals seek out. My squirrels have been a bit scarce, but they still visit in the morning for their peanut fix. It is only in the 70s here. We had a lightning storm the other night but since then it has been sunny. Hope it cools down to a comfortable temperature for you. Have a great evening.
