Re: Re: Haha TAPS

No - can't see myself liking honey on it either, although we don't know until we try it, do we? I have a case of maple syrup here, but that doesn't help you much

Annicita Thank you!

What a greatly enjoyable post! Yes, lost of fun things going on at your house. Fresh herbs and good food, the kids, the games, the better weather, and the parrot... All good. Enjoy!

Re: Haha TAPS

This one brown sugar and butter.   Out of maple syrup for now.  Keep forgetting to put it on the list.  I do have honey but didn't want that.

Haha TAPS

I cook a lot. Haven't bought a loaf of store bread for quite awhile, and the kids pass by often so lots of food rotating out. This summer the bread baking was not so pleasant. I don't have AC, but fortunately bring up here brings breeze more times than not. Love baked acorn squash. Do you put maple syrup glaze on it?

I baked an acorn squash yesterday even though the temp was 90 degrees.  I had to turn on the a/c to cool it off.  I hadn't been using the a/c.  I think I won't bake again until it is cooler.  It is getting nice and cool at night though and it is good to have the windows open.

We've started to bring ours in at night, Ciel.

Like i mentioned, I'm not the gardener here, I just follow directions, LOL! I am getting into it though. Happily too, because I foresee that our futures with the climate changes are going to necessitate growing our own food.

Beautifu yes, and I live in the Laurentian mountains.

The 10 mile road between my house and the village is awesome at any time of the year, but right now an explosion of color. Hard to keep our eyes on the driving!

Penguins huh? You have our Maritime boy, Syd Crosby on that team.

And they are rivals for my Habs, of course! Yes, made a batch of spaghetti sauce yesterday, and a tomato gruyere cheese pie in phyllo pastry the day before, and lots and lots of salads on the daily menu lately.

We freeze lots too, Sasssyass. But I use as much fresh as I can before

the frost hits, and some of our favorites will be brought inside and stay in their pots to keep growing during the winter.

FSI, I do watch the preseason, mostly because I LOVE watching hockey

and also because I like to check out how the new team members play.

CCT - both of the older Rugrats are taller than me now

and the oldest at 16 is close to 6 feet! The youngest is my height. Time flies so quickly!!! I could start my wood stove now, but prefer a small heater for the parrot for the moment. Doggies and I like the cooler temperatures.

Pat_B - probably she will, haha!

But at least her parents can't get on my case cause I'm following their advice!

Thank you, Goldiec

Your home sounds similar to mine, although things have slowed down a bit because of Covid. We never know when this house will fill up at any given moment. Love it!

We have had a couple of nights cool enough to get the leaves changing around here. But the tender plants are back out on the deck, and I hope we have a couple more weeks or more of 40s/50s nights!

Living in Quebec, I bet you have some beautiful country.

From what I know about your area, it is a gorgeous place. Have a wonderful evening!

I love hockey. Our Penguins are an amazing team. As for your abundance of tomatoes, I see plenty of soups, stews, and sauces in your future. We have four different varieties of tomatoes. I make my hubby salads and I simmer up batches of spaghetti sauce and then freeze them.

Good evening

Yikes! 39 is a bit rough. I am not ready for that as of yet. I still have to pick all of my veggies and trim all of my herbs. I plan to freeze them so that we can enjoy them through the winter.

I'm so ready for hockey, too. I don't follow the preseason but will be sure to tune in once the regular season starts.

Well, it is nice to hear what is going on in different lives. Time passes I suppose the

boys are growing up fast. There is a certain satisfaction in shutting the door and

snuggling down into the warmth. It is beginning to get colder here at night, but we

have not had a really cold winter for several years

Good! Your Habs won. As for the profanity, your little flea is no doubt

going to hear it, realize it's powerful and if she's anything like any of my kids were, she'll repeat it at exactly the most embarrassing possible moment. I'm smiling just thinking about that.

Re: Good Morning

Good Morning

I love this post.  It's such a nice way to start the morning.  I'm drinking my coffee and thinking about ways to spend my day.  It's peaceful here today and I welcome the quiet.  There's usually lots of chaos going on around me.  We always have big kids, little kids, family, friends, and strays that make their way to our house.  It's going to get chilly here and I love sleeping in a cool warm.  Summer was much too hot for me.  I hope you have a wonderful day.
