It appears that many people from different states do the salt thing. I am from Delaware, so that tradition makes sense to me now.

Good afternoon
The usual suspects like walking under a ladder, a black cat crossing your path, and breaking a glass, but three immediately come to mind. Sitting a hat on the bed, breaking a mirror, and turning the calendar a few hours or days before the new month starts. I just throw salt over my left shoulder when I am cooking and it reverses the bad luck should it actually exist.
