This impeachment trial can only restrict him from any future public office. But he has lots of jail-able opportunities coming up.

I totally wish he'd just evaporated, but this current trial is about taking him out of the running for any future office, so we never have to deal with him again. But truth is, he isn't the only one on trial: We are watching all the Senators, watching what choices they make.

Goldiec, the thing is, he has already started his campaign for 2024! He also gets a million a year travel budget among other things. These will disappear once he is impeached or censured.

I hope they do imprison him. He won't be the first, but he definitely needs to be impeached and in jail. This country will take decades to heal and repair the damage he has done.

I personally wish there was no impeachment. My reason for this is that he's out of the office and gone. I would much rather start the rest of 2021 with a clean slate. I read a news report that President Biden's wife and the Vice President's husband were taking calls about the concerns with Covid. I thought that was very positive. I just want to concentrate on the good in our country. I know some will disagree with me and that's okay. I'm willing to stand alone in my opinion. Peace

Personally, I want it to take as long as it takes to spell out every detail of his complicity, his manipulations of his not-very-bright hangers-on. That he is being called to account now is positive news! And I am sure 2021 will be on a rising note!

I just wish that he would go away. I am so tired of the negative news, riots, and our history being obliterated. I had high hopes that 2021 would be as great as 2020 was damaging. There is still time, but this impeachment needs to move a bit faster.

The trumpies lost that argument yesterday, so there is a trial starting today. And it is not being presented only to the Senate, but to the whole world, and regardless of whether they convict or don't, we are all seeing the evidence. Those whose senses aren't stuffed with BS can't help but see and judge the evidence for themselves.
The managers/prosecution have set up a masterful presentation that focuses very clearly on specific evidence. Each speaker speaks to a single aspect of the evidence, and they are not boring to listen to.

I was watching part of the case against your EX......and it is in my humble opinnion which will, I am sure, be the opinion of the thinking World, that they are presenting irrefutable evidence spoken by him and his followers. It has been a call to overturn a legal and fair Election. It is being presented so that it is impossible to ignore, even if one is brain dead, because it is all his own words from TV and twitter.
The feeble GOP watching this are obviously more terrified of losing voters than of seeing justice done. They have a feeble unrealistic argument that he can't be found guilty because he has left power.
