Well Kabu strange as it may seem many folk loved their pigs. When I was a boy nearly everyone in some villages had one in a sty. As a man told me,' I love  Jimmy and he will repay me when he resides on the wall in the kitchen. One family we visited Always half a pig in the kitchen wall and we would receive a slice at Christmas time. The husband came from Canada.

I find baby pigs to be adorable little creatures.

My sister's mother keeps a pot-bellied pig in her house. They are actually friendly animals.

Reading your entry, right before its conclusion, I was thinking of how what you were describing of pigs were similiar to dogs. It sounds like Millie has herself a great life.

I had no idea that pigs would cover themselves to keep the bugs from biting.  I have learned something today and I love that!  Thanks for sharing this post.

Sounds like you put a little fun in your work with the pigs.

When we lived on the farm that year, the farmer had holstein cows - those black & white ones - and one of the calves that year had a heart-shaped patch on its face. We called her sweetheart, and I enjoyed helping to wean her from the cow and teaching her to drink milk from a bucket while she was transitioning to grazing. Funny how attached you can get to an animal even if it isn't actually a pet.
