I love shredding, too. I remember when I was first introduced to a shredder years ago. My sister showed me how to use it. I got so excited I started using unused copy paper to do it. She yelled at me to stop.

Human compassion and empathy goes further than most can imagine.

For some, it can be the difference between a positive attitude and a really sad day. Good for you for being such a nice lady who recognizes a need, and who has love in her heart for others who are in need of it.

What a fantastic post and what a wonderful nurse you are! It's so heartwarming to hear how gently you treated your patients. And good about getting the business end of things done. I am not a fan of any of that so I understand the challenge it is to do. A good evening to you.

There is so much more to the field of "medicine" than pills and

procedures. It's the heart of the nurses and doctors who love their work and their patients that makes all the difference. I was at a gay pride parade in the late 90s in Seattle when the group carrying all the signs with names of those who'd died. There were hundreds of us lining the parade route, and we were all crying as this group went by. At that time science was rounding the corner on finding a cure - there was hope. Then and now, I am so grateful to nurses like you, Kabu, who showed human kindness to the so-called untouchables.

Kabu, HIV can be so cruel but I'm thankful we've come a long way with research and medicine to help patients live a much longer life expectancy than what they had in the beginning.  You are truly a saint for helping patients.
