We've got a snowstorm coming our way. I used to love snow days but with the kids all doing virtual learning they are already at home.

Enjoy crocheting. I miss it. It's just too hot here to do it.

I never felt the cold either when it snowed and I was outside when I was little, all bundled in a snowsuit. Now, forgetaboutit. I turn blue. How nice you crochet for people! If ever you want or need a place to donate your work, I have a relative who has a non-profit for preemies. They always need hats and blankets but have specific sizing requirements. There is a website if you are interested and maybe a FB page also. She's the one who lost her preemie twins but now has two young children.

In a way Kids had such freedom in those early days. Riding old bikes and home maid trolleys Snow was exciting. Everything seemed to be different. Knitting must keep the fingers nimble, says he as he straightens his own after typing.

Thank you for the walk down history hall. I love these types of posts.
I have never really thought about the vehicle situation and no foreign cars during the 40s, but it makes perfect sense. We also experienced the contrasting weather here in Pittsburgh. No snow as of yet, but we have fluctuated from the mid-forties to the low-sixties over this past week. I love how you describe "firing snowballs" at each other. I can almost see this event clearly in my mind from your description.
