I made many mud pies as a kid as well. I even wrote a poem about it a few years back on here.

I made plenty of mud pies in my day but I do not remember ever eating any of them.

Yes it was a kind of gentle dirt in those days.

I miss my grandparents. They were really amazing humans.

Fortunately most dirt has been germ-proofed by sunlight and the minerals

in the soil are beneficial, so mud pies aren't the worst thing a kid can eat. But they do tend to get that clean outfit Mama just ironed for you all messed up. This was a fun post.
