My mom was victimized by a similiar sort of scam. The people got into her computer. My BIL had to reformat her system.

It's a shame they use all that brainpower and energy to scam when they could probably be just as successful in doing something legitimate.

Scammers are clever, they like to think, but they are not that smart. We, on the other hand, are getting better and better at spotting them.

I know how you feel. I go through it weekly.
My attempted hacks surround my PayPal. The hacker sends me a crap email stating that I need to update my information. This typically occurs right after I have received a payment from Kindle or my job. Fortunately, I recognized it for its true nature, and I contacted Paypal. They sent me the link to forward the hacker's email. Unfortunately, I am forced to change my password more than I would like.

Bad times are when the bad guys circle and attack good people - it's
busy season for the damn scammers and hackers. They're worse than vultures.

I am fed up with so much lately. Scammers, politics both Canadian and coming from the USA, the virus and the horrific numbers of sufferers involved. I am so proud of you that you didn't let them trick you.

Sea Gypsy, I know exactly how you feel. My Facebook messenger has been hacked at least four times and I have to change my passwords. I get scam emails all the time just like you. I know they are scams. I wonder what 2020 will sound like in the history books? I think they will classify it as the year from hell.
