Hope the air quality continues to be better and better there. I wonder what it is in my house with the crazy neighbors burning their fireplace with the smoke going right into my house? I have to shut everything up and put on the air. I don't know how people do that Amazing Race! Congrats for even considering it! No, it's not something I could do.

Re: Pat,

Those adult trikes make a lot more sense to me than when I was younger and had some idea where my center of gravity lives.  And I totally understand about Seattle summers.

Re: sassyass,

When I first rowed a boat, back in GS summer camp, I really enjoyed the exercise. Canoeing is very different--you face forward and paddle on one side at a time and hold the paddle very differently. Kayaking, paddling on both sides, you're closer to the water--and I recommend doing it in warm, tropical waters, because tipping is a lot easier!

Re: CCT,

Sounds like your Dad had one arm stronger than the other!

It doesn't take much heat to exhaust me - a couple of days of 90 plus

and I'm ready for rainy old Seattle again. I have never been in a canoe or kayak, but I think I could row a small boat if necessary. Don't think I have the balance to ride a bike any longer - but maybe one of those three-wheelers would work.

I have personally never rowed a boat, kayak or a canoe.

Now I feel as though I have really missed out on something extraordinary. The funny thing is that I was raised on the water and we currently live next to a river.

Well Ciel when I was a lad ,Dad took us on a boat ride.  It was near the seaside . we rowed and kept going round and round. Dad was quite concerned until he poked the oar down and touched the bottom of this large pool it was only 3 feet deep. I hate smoke.
