There has been such a surge of authoritarianism around the world in these past several years, it is alarming. But it drives a reaction to it, from resistance to revolution, that swings that pendulum the other way. Unfortunately, as extreme as this swing has been, it is likely to be as extreme when it swings back. A strong Constitution can moderate that. Without such a guide, it's the French Revolution.

Yes, that's especially hard now when pandemic and incompetence have thrust us into a terrible economic situation--unless you are uberwealthy, which steel workers are not likely to be. At least with a more compassionate administration, there is a much greater chance for relief and the kind of support government is supposed to give its citizens in hard times!

excellent. Politics has always been compromise and deal making and a great amount of dirt covering nasty little deals. But I have never seen anything anywhere like the last four years since back in Australia in the 1970's the Governor General sacked the PM and his cabinet and elections were called. This unfortuantely couldn't happen under the USA constitution.

Voting Biden/Harris will be the end of our steel mills.
Our state employs thousands of steel workers, my husband included. Biden has a plan for clean energy that will employ a younger group of people. Meanwhile, the men and women nearing retirement will have to search for new jobs in their 60s. That is a rough road.
