I am glad Charlie is doing OK. It is a tough world out there. It has been a trying time for the gardens . I had to give up my pots it was just taking too long to keep them going. Perhaps next year it will rain all summer. it will be something to grumble about.

Re: Pat,

It is one of our family here on Blogit, actually, but I will leave it to them to make any announcements.

I do love a good thunderstorm, more if it comes with a downpour and without hail!

You're right - the days kinda run together, even though we've had

varied weather this past ten days; tropical heat indexes up to 100 plus, thunderstorms and humidity out the wazoo, and then yesterday a 'cool' front went through and today the rain is off & on and the temp hanging around the low 70s. I am enjoying this overcast cool day but worried about my daughter & others in Florida between the hurricane and Covid. Fingers crossed for your family & hope all tests are negative.

Re: sassyass,

It is not my immediate family, but one of our Blogit family.

I sometimes hand-water with soda-bottles of water, but I have to keep an eye on these things!  I think we'll water again today with the sprinkler.

That chicken sounds good... I could do that, but with lime instead of lemon. Maybe... lime and coconut milk...?

Gardens are delicate creatures. Too much rain and they are unhappy, too hot and they wilt too dry and yes they will die. But i love the yearly challenge and the arguments with the Gnome brigade and of course the other fairy folk who are my delight.

Prayers for your family concerning the COVID test.

On another note...my herb plants are crying too. It has been an extremely hot summer and most unfriendly to vegetation, flowers and herbs. We are expecting rain today, and thankfully so. My rain barrel is empty. My herbs have barely survived, but they have produced enough for me prior to the heat wave, just enough leaves to compliment my pesto, herbed pasta, and thyme, garlic and lemon chicken. Be safe and God bless.
