Kabu

I've thought later people in the 50s, 60s, 70s  and 80s  would have been, frightened if they had seen 2020, on the screen of a time machine television. Yes, they would have thought we're wearing face masks because of nuclear fallout. Or pollution. The 50s and 60s were the best time to live. I'm afraid of the future.

But seriously, I hope the nose dries up in time that you can visit your

hubby before the virus rears its ugly head again. I know it's not approved medical practice, but if I use a drop of hand sanitizer on my nostril/upper lip it dries up that persistent post-nasal drip. If I forget it, I've got to keep a tissue in hand.  Hope you feel better, and good luck with Bruno.

You're not enjoying the robots? Of waving your hand and having a

five-course dinner delivered by mini-drone to your table? Or the automated beauty salon where you walk in, take a seat in a recliner and a little nap. Half an hour later your nails are polished, your hair is cut and permed and you've had a facial that makes you look ten years younger... You're not enjoying that?

Hint (neither am I)

sigh...

I was thinking I was on my own page... I will copy/paste the previous to its proper place.

In the meantime, Kabu, take it easy, sleep a lot, drink lots of water and juice and tea with lemon... and feel better!

Future-pacing the larder

We went out comet-spotting at 4:30 this morning, during "nautical twilight." We drove out eastward to where we had a fairly clear view of the eastern horizon. But we didn't see anything dramatic but a wonderfully brilliant Venus and a ruddy Mars.

At least we got to the grocery store early, before any large numbers of shoppers. Charlie needed some things, and I wanted to get more stuff to freeze-dry this week. Charlie played into that plan by letting the 18-count box of eggs fall out of the back seat onto the driveway when he opened the door. As it worked out, exactly enough eggs didn't break, to refill the empty slots in the egg carton in the fridge already. The rest are scrambled, and waiting for the freeze-dry trays to finish in the dish-washer.

This previous lot included some salmon, cocktail shrimp, two portions of chicken marsala, and some aspargus. I lightly cook everything not already cooked. Each item can be either eaten as a dry snack or reconstituted. Freeze-drying preserves flavor as well as nutrients, and reconstitutes much faster than dehydrated foods. It also lasts, properly packaged, for years!

So, the next lot will be more salmon, broccoli, cauliflower, and eggs. Lots of eggs.

Kabu

Those were good times In spite of difficulties. Time was measured differently- perhaps it is that way for everybody when one is young. I hope you feel better and can visit Wiley soon. Hugs. May this be a better week as it continues on.

Dynasty and the other one which slips my memory. I used to watch them both. I was poor. my first marriage was over and I put myself through university and became an RN and my second son finished school and went to the Sydney Conservatory for music. by watching those over the top wealthy shows I was able to escape into a fantasy world.

2020 is beyond my expectations too, but not in a good way.

Technology moves too fast for me to keep up with. I do remember those 80s shoulder pads. Joan Collins wore them a lot on Dynasty. Big hair was a big deal. I wore my hair similar to farrah Fawcett's beautiful blonde mane. The 60s was completely something else. My parents were yound adults during that era and my dad was called to Vietnam. Music was good, hippies were everywhere and it was all about sex, drugs and rock n roll. I guess that each decade has its own special trademark. My favorite to date was the 80s. I would go back in a minute if I could. As for your health, I hope that you feel better and get over your cold quickly. A summer cold is the worst.
