I saw this play in a small city in the middle of nowehre, one of the fly over states. It was an excellent performance including some of the original broadway cast AND the black parts were played by black actors. it is as much a modern Opera and a play really. Ithoroughly enjoyed it except for making King George a fool.

It's just because it's easier to stir the pot based on something that happened a long time ago.
Should we complain about the Egyptians? First the enslavement of the Jews, and the subsequent attempt to kill all of the Jews.
Should we hate all Germans? The insanity that took over the country, under the leadership of a madman, and his attempt to also kill all of the Jews?
