Re: Re: Re: Aba Brother

A lovely query, dear Sis. It is mostly the outside that determine and shape and condition our lives. Outside here means, the circumstances - social, cultural and financial states and various others - all affect our upbringing and the happiness @nd sadness we experience. The one here Krishna teaches is the internal. Firstl let not the rush of the outside disturb you. Condition (slowly, slowly) your mind to silence. Accumulate the power of silence and become the dynamo of Spirituality. Sartre set out to develop an ontological account of what it is to be human. His Marxist leanings had a lot to do with it. He was primarily an existentialist. Before his winning the Nobel prize in 1964, he studied the Gita thoroughly in the late 1950's and conceded that many of his life's work would have been different had he  had the opportunity to come across thsee word earlier.

Re: Re: Aba Brother

Yes, his thoughts are worthy of considering when it comes to unshackling our self-imposed restrictions, at times. "To be is to be..." and how we act does shape our lives, but life sometimes shapes the way we act, and I do wonder if his time in a war camp and his Marxist leanings shaped some of his conclusions about life. But I know so little about that.

Re: Aba Brother

The French philosopherJean Paul Sartre after he read the concept of undiminishing happiness in the heavens, expressed the very same views that it is the sameness without any change that can become quite boring. Although he meant it in a different context. I do admire the depth and your concentration in understanding any foreign concept. And that's a great quality.

Kya baat...bahut Anand aaya...तेरा दर हो, यह सर हो...यह तमाशा उम्र भर हो... शरणागति की बात मुझे एकदम समझ आती है....पता नहीं क्यों...एक अद्भुत सुकून और सन्तोष है उन चरणों में....🙏

Aba Brother

Deep and fascinating and logically told, dear Aba. I am, however, fascinated by your comment mentioning the concept of a boring heaven! Our earthly intellect, pitiful as it is, is not conducive to comprehending a constant of perfection which would equal complete happiness (imho) and can fathom it (happiness) more like notes on a musical scale, as in a concert; varied in all manner with crescendos and caesurae. Great post and as always, thank you.

of course if we were happy always with every want and desire gratified without ever having to struggle...we would die of boredom.

I do agree we all want happiness, but we want it on our own terms. Interesting though.
