Shamaji

The best things about Allahabad is that besides its historical background, every little eateries on the street give deliciously attractive 😋 taste and scent, and they are so cheap compared to what we get here in our desert state. The statues and temples are just so awesome.

Thank You 😘

Well, it's different from the west in many ways but has a soul of its own.

The last two pictures are of Khusro Bagh, a large walled garden with tombs from the Mughal period...it's in Allahabad.

The huge cream coloured mansion with a sprawling garden is known as Anand Bhawan, the ancestral home of the famous Nehru family. It's in Allahabad too and was a hotbed for political meetings amongst leaders of The Indian National Congress Party during India's freedom struggle.

The first picture is of two statues of Buddha in Sarnath near Varanasi. The tall standing statue of Buddha is a replica of the famous Bamyan Buddha in Afghanistan, which was blown away by the Taliban.

The rest of the pictures (16) are from the city of Varanasi. The old riverfront, bylanes, temples and delicious street food.

Hope you all enjoy seeing my part of the world :)
