Ciel - I'm sorry you are experiencing this condition. It can hurt.

He has a fantastic specialist, and that helps. Me, I'm not sure if that's what's wrong. It did start with having to open water bottles that were impossible to twist off. Hope you hand heals nicely.

Re: Sea Gypsy,

My condolences to your hubby and to your thumb!  Funny how a thing pops up I've never heard of, and all of a sudden, it turns out half a dozen people I know have it or have had it! I hope hope hope it doesn't come to injections here!

Re: Pat,

Yes, it is like that!  Always something to attend to and adjust to... I suppose this is a kind of tendonitis, so it will last a while, and maybe go away mostly.  I'd cross my fingers, but that would probably just make something else go sideways.

Re: sassyass,

Seems just about anything strains something these days! It is so frustrating not to be able to just trot around doing things that used to be easy.

Re: CCT,

When it first presented itself it was just so odd... Never heard of it or anything like it. It is comforting to find it is not all unknown and even better to know what to do about it!

My hubby has it. He's had injections twice and needs to go back for a procedure when the specialist re-opens. Maybe. I hope you get well soon. It's painful. I also have it in my thumb but not that bad.

Re: Thank you for clearing that up, Pat_B. It explains everything.

When my hubby and I hit 50 five years ago, all hell broke loose. Knee's creak, elbow's pop, aches and pains, well, they never stop.....

Friend of mine - in his 80s at the time - used to say once you hit

50 it's all patch, patch, patch to keep the body working... Hope your trigger finger is only a temporary condition.

So sorry for your pain. Hope you feel better.

I can relate to joint pain.  As writers, we have to deal with finger, arm, and joint pain that goes with the territory. The tension headaches and back strains are another story.

Well  thank you Ciel. It is good to know what the cause is should one become troubled by this affliction, hope it is a one off.
