Are they going to tear down the empty stores and put up apartment buildings or divide the store buildings up into departments?

I work in real estate part-time, so I see this type of repurposing. It beats the alternative, which would be abandoned buildings that bring down the value of homes in businesses in neighborhoods. This remind's me of our many closed malls here in Pennsylvania. I cannot help but wonder what they plan to do with all of the vacted malls around the U.S. that have become victims to online shoppers choosing to buy from the comfort of their own home.
