Thank you, everyone. Just as he was about to concede that he wouldn't live long enough to find a proper donor, God gave him a new chance at life. We will never know how these lungs came to be available, and my entire family understands that for our brother to live, someone else had to die. We wish inner peace for that family.

Fabulous. I hope and pray the improvement continues.
My kids' dad had a liver transplant, wasn't expected to last more than a few years, but lived for 20 - so you and your brother are no doubt going to write a few more chapters in your story.

great news about your brother and how wonderful to see just how much better he already is with his new lungs. So happy and for the donor family it will be wonderful news if those lungs give him new and longer life.
