Re: Ciel

Ditto! Double ditto! It was a case of fixing what wasn't broken when the came out with Windows 8, which was a disaster. So they hurried up and brought out Windows 10, when they should/could have just tweaked Windows7 and admitted they screwed up. One doesn't hear a person saying how much s/he just loves Win10...

Re: sassy

Same here. There was no way around Windows 10 when I got my laptop. I just don't care for it at all compared to a Windows 7 version. Rrrhh. If people feel like that, Microsoft sure doesn't care.

Re: FSI

Yes, I could have held out too, but eventually that would have been the end for this computer. It's drivers were outdated and who knows what all else.

Re: Corbin

Hey, Corbin, how are ya? Thanks for asking. Are we good now? Yes, I have external back-ups on the desktop and laptop and had put the photos and docs on thumb drives. But it's just the whole idea of having to put on Win10 when Win7 was great that is really bothersome.

Pat

He did appear to save what was on here. I had also back them up on thumb drives and an external drive. But still... It's the operating system I don't like. Well, it's working now so that's a good thing.

I keep praying my computer will live longer than me.  I really, really, really don't want to have to mess with it or with a new one.

I hate change for the sake of change, and having updates forced on me. I am one of those who is quite happy with what has worked for me for years, who does not want to have to learn a whole new system whenever the techs need to justify their paychecks. Change is not always improvement.

I too loved Windows 7. I almost cried when I was forced to update to Windows 10. My computer has never been the same, and the updates never stop.

I hate how they force us to have to move on. I've loved 7, too. So far, I've been able to hold out.

I hope he can save any files or photos that are important to you.

Maybe on a thumb drive, so you can pop them into that restored or a new one.
