Wiley was a regular blogger who posted almost daily back when I joined in 2003. I left in 2007, but somehow remained a Blogit member even though I haven't posted anything for the past twelve years. It was a different group of people then. Please tell Wiley hello for me. I hope he doing well. He may remember Ariala, Spitfire, Chris, Crabby, and a few others. My Blogit name is still the same as it was in 2003 even though my blogs are very different today.

Sounds like his need to spout off his feelings and thoughts overwhelmed his ability to hear your needs and clear warning. And you did tell him you had to go now, which makes it not quite the same as simply hanging up. So I hope you stop beating yourself up over asserting your boundaries, stay cozy with your lads... So glad to hear you have neighbors who are looking after you!

Old Age can get very sad, indeed. Some people just keep pushing with their views to detriment of their relationships.

I lose it so often here that I am all set up for it (as you know) but I've also lived through not being set up for it! Not fun.

Welcome back, sweet S.Sister. How terrible to lose power when it is so cold. Yet how wonderful you have good neighbors to help you. And yes, there are times one must stop talking politics.

People do like to talk politics and voice their own opinions but do not want to listen to anyone's differing opinion. Butting in and just getting louder does not make anyone right. I'd rather talk birds, or babies, or Christmas decorations, or baking.....

I can think of a time, maybe 40 years ago, when being forced to
snuggle up in bed for 24 hours would have been just the ticket! When I lived in the Pacific Northwest most people who lived on the outskirts or in the country had wood burning stoves/fireplaces and kept kerosene lanterns handy because power outages were frequent during winter weather when tree limbs fell onto power lines.
