Yes Pat we have Blankets wool of course a lot came from Australia.
One lugs them out as Winter approaches. Cannot do the same for Milkmaids.

Maybe next time to town take the route suggested by your brother? If we're going to walk, it's much nicer to enjoy that walk. Cute poem - I can practically hear the young man's gulp when the milkmaid's voice brings him back to reality.

I think the wool is warmer in a hat or scarf or sweater,
but it's cheaper to spin yarn out of oil than to feed and tend to sheep, let alone the complications of shearing, washing, spinning, knitting, etc... I'm beginning to wish we could go back to 1890 technology, cleaner air, no plastics... I know the kids roll their eyes when things like that are said...
