Not sure whether or not Social Security withheld is deducted from taxable income each year. In any case for homeowners and people in states where personal property like boats, cars, etc. are taxed, along with sales tax, I think the total amount of taxes paid would be considerably less. Most of us pay around $8-$10 for every $100 spent on groceries, clothing, utilities, etc... But I have always been math challenged, so I could be totally bass-ackwards on this...

Lots to think about here. Like get taxed on social security as income after you were taxed on it when you earned it in the first place. Or am I wrong?
