Marika said something about how they could cope without my being here, that the doula would be enough, and with Oliver on fatherhood-leave for a while... I let her know I am here as long as they want me to be here, until his mom arrives Nov 8. I also assured her I would not fuss with the doula, whatever my thoughts about her.
When I talked with Oliver about it, he told me her real fear was that I would leave... She was making sure I knew I could, I guess, but he said they were actually worried I might go, and if there were problems with the doula, they'd get rid of her before getting rid of me! Isn't that a nice vote of confidence?

I'm sitting here laughing at your description and opinion of the doula. I'm glad that your little one likes her and can relate to her. That always makes things easier.

It is always the same, we want someone who conforms to our own ideas. She the little one is smart enough to comprehend. I expect they will get on fine.
