Thank you for reading. I think it's all in how you look at it. I don't mind answering questions and educating people on how it works. It's been a learning curve for us too.

We own the 10ft wide ROW. We are the only ones who CAN add a dock, put in stairs or put a picnic table on it, etc. We own the dirt, so to speak. Others on our road have "deeded" rights to pass over it. They can not alter it in any way without our permission. Hope this answers your question.

Let me make sure....You own land close to the lake but not on the lake, so you have right of way to the lake. Others, with the same circumstances, have a ROW, too. 

Since that is a public access, how do you have the right to build a dock?

Only in a canoe at the New Jersey Pine Barrens. My issue was a campfire.
