Sultry nights are not good for sleep! This is why I always have a fan blowing over the bed in summer. I aim it below face level, so my breathing doesn't dry out!

Yes... lawns are such a waste, something people are more aware of here in the high desert country. There are a lot of gravel/pebble/cobbled yards, even some concrete slabs where there used to be lawns.

Years ago when I lived in the Puget Sound area, in the hot summer when it rarely rained, when I watered the yard with a wide spray, the little birds would come down and fly through the water. That made it a lot more interesting.

my problem as well. I cannot wake up in the cool morning it is easier to sleep then I find..actually all mornings are easier for me to sleep away. LOL

I once told someone that watering a lawn is against my religion.
I think of all the water starved places in the world, and wasting it on something that feeds no one just felt wrong at the time. He looked at me the way you'd look at an apparition that appeared ghostly on a lonely path...
