I have 3 skunks that roam my fields...one of them is white with black stripes. My dog Bogart learned the hard way...and I didn't think I was ever going to get the smell off of him.

I like a very faint hint of skunk scent, but you're right - surfeit it is.
There was a 5-year-old pesky brat in the neighborhood who used to have no boundaries, once on his way through his yard, a skunk crossed his path and he kicked it. I still think of it as just desserts - for the brat and his mother, who let him run as he pleased. The little stinker got a bath in tomato juice, or so I heard.
