Mother used to make pickled beets. Still hate them. I have no idea
why anyone plants them, all that purple that stains everything... Unless, of course you had some sheep's wool that needed dyeing. Love the brother-sister verses, I could just see them, walking up the street or sitting on the porch, out of mother's sight.
