Re: RPresta,

Bunnies, you know, hop. You'd still need to fence them somewhat. And thanks for reminding me, as we have a bunny around the neighborhood who often grazes in this front yard!

Re: Pat,

Maybe you could put boxes in between the shrubberies?

Re: CCT,

I like raised beds because I dislike bending over to the ground or kneeling, since my back and knees don't work as they used to.

Good luck they charge a bomb for those so called raised gardens. I think stuff usually does well in them because folk pay more attention when things are orderly.

We've written winters snowbituary, but we've been getting plastered with rain.

I've been thinking of just such a raised garden block along the

back deck, but unfortunately there are two bayberry bushes there, and even though I've pruned one of them back to the nubs, it brings its thorny self back to taunt every time. I'm thinking of hiring a landscaper with a chain saw - or a Bobcat dirt mover to dig them up. There's also the issue of disturbing the entrance to the groundhog's burrough. He lives peacefully under there, I've only seen him a time or two, nibbling on dandelions. He didn't see his shadow last time, so maybe you're right, and we'll actually have spring weather soon.

That brunch and garden sound delightful. I’ve been wanting raised beds here so I could have a veggie garden that the rabbits won’t eat. Happy Mother’s Day to you!
