My lips seem to get dry lately luckily I had pots of Vaseline given to me all different flavors. Yes I expect it is wise to coat door handles. Folk press buttons to cross roads etc.
Folk tend to touch their nose at times and other bits and pieces it is wise to do as you do and wash hands after shopping.

That sounds like a good idea. It can't hurt to try hand sanitizer in that spot.
