Goodness. I wonder what boarding school at that age would have done for/to me. I think it might have been a positive step. I didn't leave home by myself until I was 16 and that was only for six weeks. Didn't leave home for good until I married.

I can't imagine being away from my sister when we were both young. That had to be incredibly tough.

Sometimes a change like that is scary for a kid, and it doesn't look
as much like opportunity as it does a loss. I'm glad it worked out well for you both.
