We were newbies when we began, but that was the fun of it.  We didn't know what we were doing.  Even my husband had never been camping the first time we went.

Yes I shall be glad that Arthur has stopped singing carols, he does it each year to annoy me.Glad they come through, you may have a virus messing the machine up both my sister and Archie are having problems.

I guess vehicles were not road tested much and tyres were not readily available.

It sounds like you had a nice Christmas...That was quite an ordeal when you were younger with the tires. Whenever we had one problem with the family vehicle, that ended up being the only problem.

The Glorious Sands sounds like some of the places we went camping when our sons were young.  We loved it all.  My sons all in their 50's still talk often about taking a holliday now and then from the city and going so many places in the forrests and mountains and rugged places.  One year we spent Thanksgiving camped in the woods, catching fish and cooking it for our Thanksgiving Dinner.  Nothing like it.

The more I read travel adventures, nights spent in caravans and

trips to rainy sand dunes, the cozier and more appealing are my own pillows and all the cookies hidden just where I can find them in an emergency....
