Ciel in the war years we used to eat them raw. I think I might get a few and try your recipe.

I remember Mrs. Juno, my high school home-ec teacher, when she
taught us how to cook and serve artichokes. I never used that lesson in my later life, having decided at 16 they were more trouble than they were worth. Might be worth another try using your foil & bake method and plenty of butter.

i love artichokes. A bit of lemon juice will keep their color bright.
