I remember getting different toys over the years that did not hold up...Love can make us very blind to the reality around us.

Re: Re: Taps

Remember when everyone had a big ball of string because they saved it after it was used for something so they could use it again.  LOL

Re: Kabu

Don't worry, I can soon send another. Have you tried a 'restore' on the computer, I usually try that if anything starts acting up. It is usually under START one has to type in Restore. Then one chooses a date when it worked properly. Just follow the instructions carefully and don't press anything until it says you can. If in doubt ask Trish.

Re: There's a lovely atmosphere what with the white tablecloth,

As my sister said Pat. 'No one wants china these days it is piled up on boot stalls ,but no takers. I have a couple of very thin square cups, I gave the sister the rest. she said 'Remember when we had visitors, from Oxford, relations more refined, Mum used to bring out this china.' Nostalgic I guess.

Re: Taps

String was not as strong in those days, I expect one should use nylon for strength.'I don't think kites were allowed here during the WW2.

I can't count the number of times I have been told to "Go Fly A Kite"!

When our boys were young, we used to take them down to Aunt Evva and Uncle Mike's farm where there was plenty of pastures and cornfields, to fly our kites.  Once we had a huge box kite and the string broke and it came down a long ways off.  Their daddy took them to find it and bring it back, but it was pretty banged up.

'So I sip the expression of your eyes' Wow! I think only you can express it so clearly and lovely!

I remember kite-flying. Nice. Sad that the string wouldn't hold though, and that you had to run after the kite. You poem is very picturesque, and it enjoyed the last few lines the best.

There's a lovely atmosphere what with the white tablecloth,

the plum jam and teacups - which I imagine are fragile and translucent, perhaps with floral designs and gold trim. And kites that are too much for their string. Although it all happened in the way long ago, it feels like only a short tippie-toe step would take us all across to that yesterday.
